PRIVACY
Based on Brandeis's slogan, "the right to be left alone", mean that we have the right to our own private life. What right does anyone interrupt into our personal life? What right does anyone can easily gather our personal information? How can our privacy being protected? I really agree with the European Privacy Directive which implements comprehensive legislation to protect their citizen's privacy. This protection required a very superior protection for the citizens. When managing individual information, the data must reveal their identities, the purpose of the processing, and the data can only be processed for the known purpose by the individual. The individual also have the right to edit or correct the information before it being published to the public or provided to the third parties for direct marketing. In contrary to US, there are no such permit to used others personal data for unlimited purpose. Once the information is published, it will become universal to public use. Do you feel safe with this situation? What should we do to protect our privacy? As we see, our privacy has been interrupted indirectly by the government in a certain situation. For example, at the airport during the examination process, our laptop is being intruded by the examiner and simply copies all the data in the laptop without any permission. What if there are any private and secret data about business or some kind of that which obviously cannot be share to the public? Yes! This action is to protect the country from any of violence actions. But is it fair to us, as the communities being treated like this?
