COPYRIGHT LAWS

Copyright is a legal concept, which is created by government which gives the creator the right towards their creation and work. Here, I would like to talk about copyright. Why it is important? To whom is it important? Basically, copyright is important to protect a fictional, musical, dramatic, artistic, architectural or audio from being duplicated by others without the permission or paying the royalties to the copyright holder. The current intent of the copyright is to endorse the creation of new work by giving authors control, right and profit from them. The authors have their right in their work as long as the work does not enter the public domain, where the work is no long belong to the owner and can be used by others simultaneously. These copyright laws have the limitations regarding to the public interest. One of the limitation is the fair used. Under this fair used limitation, one can quote the works for limited purpose. Fair use also allow teacher to make a copy of several pages from a book to the student, but it is not distribution of the copy for the whole book. Parody is a subset of the fair use that protects the copyright work in conjunction to make fun of it. However, the problem of the copyright is the author and the creator keep extending the copyright protection in order to gain profit. This act indirectly extend the time of the work to enter the public domain. This problem leads to the limiting idea and invention of new generations as the present idea is locked to be developed by other generations.
